A digital LCD timer is part of the standard packing list for both lamps. It is a separate handheld unit rather than a function built into the lamp body, which is why it can be replaced on its own without the device going anywhere.

Timing is not incidental to home phototherapy. Exposure is measured in seconds and short minutes, and the schedule supplied with the lamp increases those durations in steps. Working from an estimate, a kitchen clock or a memory of last time is how sessions drift longer than intended, and over-exposure to ultraviolet risks burning the skin. A dedicated timer that counts down and stops is the point of the thing.

Order one if the original has been lost, dropped, or has stopped responding. It is also worth keeping a spare where the lamp is used daily and a failed timer would interrupt a course of treatment.
